At the event entitled “Environmental Dialogue: Recording the City, Community Collaboration and Leaders for the Future” initiated by the Rekam Nusantara Foundation with the candidates for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bogor for the period 2024-2029 held in Bogor City, West Java was interesting.

Along with the increasing number of people and companies in Bogor City, waste has become an endless problem in everyday life. This is supported by the limited landfills that are still limited in the city of Bogor, overloaded waste makes its own homework for the current candidates for mayor and deputy mayor of Bogor for the 2024-2029 period. 

In addition, waste is the number one problem in Indonesia, especially in the city of Bogor and is a frightening specter for every community. According to research in 2021 as much as 295 tons of waste came from households, besides that in 2021 also non-household waste took part in contributing 238 tons in Bogor City. 

In addition to being easy and efficient to use, plastic waste is something that is often found with an amount of 37,164 tons per year in the city of Bogor, besides that as much as 24,436 tons of plastic waste is simply thrown into nature without going through the process or recycle and it is very sad.

On this occasion, the Rekam Nusantara Foundation team had the opportunity to hold an event with the candidates for mayor and deputy mayor of Bogor for the 2024-2029 period. 

According to the interview that the Rekam Nusantara Foundation team had conducted with Sandi Fardiansyah and his team stated that his attitude regarding the issue of waste in the city of Bogor, they would use high-level technology to increase the waste management process in order to reduce the significant amount of waste in the city of Bogor. 

Not only that, the man with the greeting sandi and his team that they will focus on reopening green open spaces or RTH to reduce the burden of carbon dioxide in the city of Bogor which is gradually increasing day by day. 

“Only a few percent in Bogor City is green open space or RTH, therefore it needs to be emphasized and promoted the movement to open Green Open Space. In fact, this must be strengthened by regional regulations or PERDA to social sanctions if anyone damages the RTH,” said Sandi. 

In addition, green open space or RTH, became an interesting discussion at this event. Because green open space is a very vital and important object in an urban area in absorbing carbon dioxide,

Therefore through this event the candidates for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Bogor can be expected, that whoever will be elected to be able to pay very much attention to Green Open Space, waste problems and Urban Sustainability in the future so that Bogor City is better than before.
